Hair and skincare products & OOTD

Dear readers,

Today I was in Superdrugs and picked up 4 items. I was mostly looking for skincare and haircare. As I'm a teenager I get a lot of breakouts and spots which I really hate :( On the internet, I found out that tea tree oil is great for fighting blemishes and spots on skin and it's natural too! So I really wanted to try that out.

I also REALLY want my hair to grow because I hate the length right now, its short/medium. My hair is quite damaged from heat and it's not soft and shiny. So I heard oil such as coconut oil, castor oil, or alma oil really moisturises your hair and it is great for damaged hair. So I also wanted to find that to start using on a weekly basis.

I was on the lookout for a matte bronzer, because honestly I have one which I use and it has shimmer which I don't really like in a bronzer. So when I was in superdrugs I looked at the MUA stand and they had really nice matte bronzers at just £1 which I couldn't resist!

Take a look below to see exactly what I got, links to find these products and the OOTD!

OOTD: Top - Forever 21
Skirt - H&M
Shoes - Lee Cooper
Bag - H&M
Bandeau - New Look
(Excuse my coke stain!)

These are the products I brought. Take a look below for more info!

Aussie - 3 minute miracle reconstrustor deep conditioner

Superdrug - Coconut oil

MUA - Bronzer in Shade 3

Superdrug - Tea tree 100% pure oil

I brought all this for under £10 which was great and I was really happy with. I will let you know how I get on with these products especially the coconut oil and I will have a post about it and how to condition your hair with oil :) Hope you enjoyed this and let me know if you have used any of these products and how you got on!

Help for blemish and spot prone skin

Dear readers,

In this post I will try and give you some good advice about keeping your skin healthy, and clear of any blemishes, spots, and blackheads. This used to be a huge problem for me but now it gets better and better with the products I try out. This is normal and happens to a lot of teenagers and young adults, it can happen for a lot of different reasons such as puberty, diet, stress or even your environment. Below I will give you some tips and tricks, also I will share some of my experiences.

How to keep your skin blemish free?
  • Water - Drinking water is one of the key elements to clear blemish free skin. Eventhough you might hear this all over the place it really does make a difference. The water clears your body from the inside, and flushes out all the impurities which may cause spots and blemishes.

  • Diet - Since you are what you eat change that unhealthy oily snack for some fresh fruit, vegetables or just a healthier option. In my case when I eat a lot of sweets with chocolate or just chocolate blemishes and spots come out exactly the same day! Also avoid a lot of sugary, oily, and spicy food because these will definitely make your skin worse.

  • Cleanse your pores - From time to time, fill a bowl with boiling hot water. Put your head in just above it so all the steam goes on your face, do this for about 10 minutes. This will open up your pores and get rid of the bacteria which might be causing blemishes. Then remember to splash your face with cold water to avoid the bacteria getting back into the open pores!

  • Touching - Avoid touching your face with your hands, this will just put hundreds of bacteria on your face without you even knowing! Also, clean your phone from time to time, there are also bacteria on your phone which you put against your face.

  • Clean! Clean! Clean! - Get into a routine of cleaning your face daily using face washes, then remember to moisturise and keep that face clean!

  • Exfoliate - Once or twice a week use a exfoliating face wash to get rid of the dead skin on top. This will leave your face clean, soft and new. Remember not to do this more than twice a week as this can irritate your face and be harsh on skim, especially gentle and sensitive skin.
Good skincare products to try:

  • Dermalogica Anti-bac Skin Wash 250ml £20.40 - gentle, naturally foaming cleanser with salicylic acid, antibacterial triclosan and soothing balm mint.
  • Origins Matte Scientist 50ml £18 - super light moisturiser that won't leave your skin shiny.
    • Nivea Daily Essentials Gentle Exfoliating Scrub 150ml £3.99 - Gentle exfoliating, skin refining scrub for Normal/Combination skin
    • St Ives Apricot Blemish Control Scrub 150ml £3.99 - Helps prevent blackheads and unclogs pores
    • Nivea Visage 2 in 1 Cleanser/Toner 200ml £3.59 - Cleanses and tones for a fresh skin feeling.

TIP! Try to avoid using oil-based makeup. You are clogging your pores when choosing to use oil-base makeup products.

TIP! Frequently changing your bedsheets can have positive effects on your skin problems. Your sheets will retain the oil from your skin.

TIP! Tea tree oil can prevent blemishes from forming when applied to blemish-prone areas. This oil is natural and will not dry out your skin, tea tree oil helps reduce oil build up in the pores. You can find it in beauty stores or go to Lush, they have fantastic special blemish fighting products with tee tree oil!

TIP!  Cell phones collect oil from your face and hair as well as bacteria and then puts it back on your face. Clean your phone by swiping it with a cotton ball that has been dampened with rubbing alcohol.

TIP! There is a very good chance that if you suffer from acne, it is caused by stress. Make sure you have some time to yourself to relax.

TIP! You need to be strict about following your daily face regimen. Set aside a time during the day for washing and moisturizing your face to make sure it is getting the attention it needs to keep blemishes away.

Also, if you suffer from acne apply sudocrem overnight, it does wonders and is recommended to be used for skin with acne. As well as preventing acne and helping it get better it can help improve the appearance of acne scars :)

I hope this blog was helpful and some of my tips will work for you, let me know how you get on and some of your top tips for fighting blemishes and imperfections!

Would you rather? MAKE UP TAG

    Dear readers,

Today this will be a bit of a different post. This will be the first tag post on this blog so let me know if you would like some more of these kind of posts!:) Let's get started!

1.) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?
This might sound strange but I would definately prefer to lose ALL my palletes and eyeshadows anyday. I always need to have mascara or eyeliner, always! When I apply my full make up I sometimes don't even wear eyeshadow and when I do it is usually nude colours, I don't pay as much attention to eyeshadow :)

2.) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

This is so hard! I think it would depend on the length of my hair at the moment. Right now my hair is short and I don't really like it therefore I think I would chop them all off and wear wigs until it grows back nicely!

3.) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

I would rather have a pink cheek because it just looks so much better on me and I just prefer it a lot more all year round, I think coral cheeks are more for spring and summer.

4.) If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

If I could keep what I already have I think I would spend $1000 dollars on clothes, simply because I think I have enough make up and with a few eyeshadows, lipsticks, blushers and other make up basics you can create so many looks! I love clothes and styling and fashion just changes so so often therefore I would buy clothes.

5.) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?

I think I would choose lipstick as eyeliner because if I had an eyeliner brush I could just use lipstick as gel eyeliner. The consistency would not be too much difference and you could get so many pretty colours! (I'd still go for black though.) Also eyeliner as lipstick would make your lips look so dry and disgusting :(

6.) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

I live in the UK so there are no Sephora's here I believe, but there are equivalents such as Debenhams or Selfridges, I think I would rather shop at those because they have all the fantastic make up brands such as Benefit, Urban Decay and MAC, so why choose 1 if you could have all?

7.) Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?

I think I would only use one eyeshadow colour because as I previously stated I use eyeshadow but I'm not so concerned about it. For my everyday make up I only use one nude eyeshadow and a dark brown to fill in my eyebrows but lipsticks are just so fantastic and just cannot resist them!

8.) Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?

I think I would rather wear summer clothes in winter because I would just not stand being so hot in these heatwaves or on holiday! And when I'm cold in winter I could just turn up the heating or have a blanket on me :)

9.) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?

I think I would rather have dark nails because I have this number 1 nail vanish which is a dark purplish/burgundy colour which I wear nearly all the time!

10.) Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?

My favourite lip product is definitely lipstick and my favourite eye product is eyeliner, I wear eyeliner all the time and lipstick quite often, I would definitely rather give up lipstick than eyeliner because I just have to have it on my eyes, it makes them look bold and awake and I think I am addicted to my winged out eyeliner :(

11.) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?

My hair is naturally very curly, since it's quite short it doesn't really look nice in a ponytail. A messy bun is my favourite up-do and I wear it so often, I don't have to worry about my curly hair or straightening it. It is so easy, simple and helpful so I would definitely go for the messy bun.

12.) Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?

I'm not a big fan of shiny lips therefore I don't often wear lipgloss, I love painted nails and I could not go without it. So without a doubt I would rather never use lipgloss

13.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?

Oh my god! This is the worst question ever. I absolutely hate huge, dark filled in eyebrows and then sharpie eyebrows?:( I think I rather shave my eyebrows and they would grow within about a week than have sharpie eyebrows all my life.

14.) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
I am a huge fan of nail polish but I definitely feel like I need and love make up more. Not everyone pays as much attention to nails as me but they sure do to your face! I would rather live without nail polish for sure.

Well that is the end of the Would you rather make up tag and I hope you enjoyed my answers! I tag all the readers of this post and my blog. Send me a link down below if you have done this tag and I'll definitely have a look!

    Recipe for a relaxing evening

    Dear readers,

I'm not sure you know this but I am a huge fan of long, relaxing baths. In this post I will show you what I like to do and what products and things I use.

Take a look below to find out more!

I would start off my taking off all my make up very carefully. A bath can be a great way to open up your pores and get your whole face looking beautiful and so clear!

Grab some snacks! My baths usually vary from 45 minutes to even 2 hours! In that time you will get thirsty because of the hot water and steam so grab a drink. In my case I chose to have some ice cold water and some crisps (how unhealthy!)
If you would prefer a healthier option great things to choose from are fresh fruit drinks, nuts, fruit or if you're extra naughty you could have some chocolate ;)

Fill up that bath! Turn on the tap and get that hot water inside the tub! If you like bubbly baths like me use your favourite bubble bath liquid soap!

Other things to consider: If you would like to add even more you could consider getting a bath bomb, you can get them from places like Lush (which is absolutely amazing!) You could also use bath confetti, or bath salts which are also very relaxing. For this bath I kept it simple and just went with the bubbles :)

Turn off the lights, and instead use candles! Candles will look beautiful, you can get really nice relaxing scented candles with scents like lavender or vanilla. These will be much more relaxing than the harsh bathroom light! Be careful and make sure you have your parents permission if you're not a responsible adult just yet! :)

Below I will show you what products I used.

For bubbles I used the Avon soft pink bubble bath. As a body wash I decided to go with something very gentle and kind to skin which is perfect if you have sensitive skin, and this is the Johnson's baby top to toe bath. Today I decided to go with a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner and that is the herbal essences dazzling shine shampoo and conditioner. Then as body lotion I decided to use the palmers stretch marks lotion, a lot of the time I also like using their firming lotion too as both of them smell great and do a great job. I haven't noticed as much with the firming lotion but the stretch marks lotion does wonder. If you have stretch marks I recommend this and bio oil!

I hope this helps and you will now have some ideas for the perfect relaxing bath!

    OOTD: Little crop

    Dear readers,

Today I just wanted to share with you a little outfit which I wore quite often in the summer. It is very plain and basic. It's all black (I don't even know why) but you could easily switch it up by just wearing different colours and make it bright and summery!

Take a look below to see some pictures.

In this picture I have no make up on but as you can see my hair is curly (naturally) and loosely pinned to the side. If you don't have naturally curly hair you could always curl beforehand and then pin it to the side with some bobby pins! I love this hairstyle because its so fast, easy and effective which is just perfect for the summer. To brighten it up you could add a flower or a flower headband on top!

So as you can see I am wearing a skirt with an oversized crop top. You could give it that summery look by going for some summer colours or adding some bold jewellery!

Hope you liked this and comment for more outfit of the day posts!
